Twice a year WDA organizes business mixers for its members, supporters and friends. We share with you all we do, we all have a chance to integrate and exchange views.

The WDA and In Your Pocket 2009 Spring Mixer at the Palace of Culture and Science
On April 23rd, 2009 the WDA in cooperation with In Your Pocket guides and the Palace of Culture and Science held its biannual event - the Spring Mixer. The event took place at the 30th floor of the PKiN. Guests had an exclusive access to the viewing terrace and were able to admire the incredible Warsaw panorama.

The biannual mixer was an occasion for the WDA members and friends to meet as well as to mark the reopening of the newly renovated part of the Palace of Culture and Science and to celebrate the 50th edition of Warsaw in Your Pocket.

Guests had also an unique possibility to admire some fine art exhibited during the Mixer. One of the pieces on display was a painting called
“A bridge” by Meyro, presented by the ArtTu Gallery in Warsaw. The painting was available for purchase during the event. There were also other pieces of art exhibited.

During the event Krzysztof Markowski, the Vicepresident of the Palace of Culture and Science, talked about the renovated parts of the Palace. Katarzyna Ratajczyk from the Promotion Office of the City of Warsaw presented the project of the new city furniture for Warsaw. She was also presented with a free advertisement certificate to be used in In Your Pocket guides and a large printout of a beautiful Warsaw panorama sponsored by fhotographer Przemysław Zacharuk.

WDA 2008 Fall Mixer in Warsaw Marriott Hotel
On October 9th the biannual WDA members and friends meeting – WDA Fall Mixer - took place. The event was hosted at the newly reopened Panorama Bar on the 40. floor of the Warsaw Marriott Hotel.

The event main purpose was to present the promotional campaign of Warsaw that started on October 6th on BBC World and to thank the President of Warsaw Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz and the Director of the Promotion Department of Warsaw Katarzyna Ratajczyk for promoting Warsaw abroad. The BBC World campaign is financed by the City of Warsaw.

On behalf of the Warsaw Destination Alliance, Warszawa, the industry, and our members, we thank you for promoting and marketing our city as a superb destination. We support and look forward to our future collaboration and cooperation – said Alex Kloszewski, the President of Warsaw Destination Alliance.  Among the many guests, who  included the President of Warsaw Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz and the Director of the Promotion Department of Warsaw Katarzyna Ratajczyk, were the Ambassador of Georgia Konstantin Kavtaradze, BBC World Sponsorship and Development Director Alison Farmery, the president of the Polish Tourism Organisation Rafał Szmytke and two of the people who feature in the advertising spots of the Warsaw City advertising campaign on BBC World: the President of New Chamber Orchestra Richard Berkeley and the dancer Cris De La Pena.

The current BBC World campaign is financed by the City of Warsaw and will last until November 16th. The three spots presented during this campaign show Warsaw as it is seen and experienced by three different people living in Warsaw – both Polish and Foreign. This campaign will be immediately followed by the WDA & Partners Campaign – Let’s Warsaw Together 2008 edition, that starts on the 17th of November and will run for 4 weeks. These spots will feature Warsaw as an attractive business – conferencing destination.

The WDA Fall Mixer was also an occasion to officially present the WDA’s new members: PPL/Chopin Airport, National Sports Centre, Holiday Inn Warsaw Jozefow Hotel, Rondo Royal restaurant, DTZ and Star Jubiler. During the evening there was a draw for a most unusual gift: a blue diamond weighing 0,22 carats and worth over 1000 zl sponsored by the Star Jubiler company.

WDA 2008 Spring Mixer took place on May 9th at the Le Meridien Bristol Hotel.
The event gathered about 80 people representing WDA members companies, partners and friends. As usual it was an occasion to present the latest WDA accomplishments, welcome new members and discuss Warsaw news like Euro 2012 preparations – commented by Alex Kloszewski WDA President and Michal Borowski the President of National Sports Center. WDA had also a pleasure to officially welcome to Warsaw the United Buddy Bears exhibition that will be presented at Zamkowy Square until June 22nd. UBB initiators Eva and Klaus Herlitz were special guests of the event and gave a presentation about the UBB message of tolerance, a peaceful coexistence and a better international understanding.

The meeting was the occasion to discuss the hot nowadays topic of EUFA Euro 2012, with our special guest, Michał Nykowski, the Director of Euro 2012 Poland Board.
